more procrastinating...and it's spring!

been doing more work on the garden, instead of things i should be doing...

 

this is the new hoe i bought on the weekend.  they don't seem to be as good as the one my dad has (god knows how old that is) but it does the job. I've been digging up the grass & weeds, finally!

 

finally clear the grass/weeds from around the apricot tree (i think!) (see all the grass/weeds i need to dig up in the background - yeah fun!)

and this is the new plant i bought in the clearance bit at bunnings, i love cheap, dying plants!

and my broccoli has finally produced broccolli!! the heads are about the size of a 5 cent coin - woohoo!

this formatting is giving me the shits!

so here are my broccoli. there are lot's of plants. if only they would grow broccoli, it's all leaves so far. i grew from seeds indoors (maybe May)and then transplanted into the pots and the ground (when moved into this place end of June). no idea what's going on, if i need to just wait or add more fertiliser. sigh.

i also have some cat dropping by eating my broccoli leaves! grrr. i've put citrus rind on the ground, but does diddly squat.

my garden

well here's the garden. I've done some work on it and the pot plants are from my old place (where i had no garden to dig into). it's pretty much all grass and weeds with some trees, lemon, mandarin, apricot, nectarine, boganvillea (which I butchered back) and trees i have no idea what they are. will see when the leaves come back.





the gutter went to the pavement, so added a pipe to go to the garden bed. which now floods when it rains. doh.






























the left side is a sickly lemon tree (gall wasp), compost, boganvillea, some pipe coming out of the ground, weeds and trees.







































the shed and the water storage - cheap 120l bins from bunnings. no need for a pump! and the gutter leaks so good place to catch water.

the begining

this is my first blogger blog, i think i have a livejournal, but no idea where that is. anyway i think i'll use this to post photos, and update info on my garden (ha!).
